Update on Lorelei

For those of you who read Katie's blog you have been kept pretty updated on Lorelei's condition, for those of you who don't...She is doing much better!

We came to the ER Wednesday night/Thursday morning at 1:30 am because of a 101.6 fever (Which is too high for a 4 week old). We were in the ER all night while they did tests consisting of blood work and a spinal tap. The spinal tap was awful. We didn't stay in the room for that but we could hear her screaming from the hall. It was heart wrenching!

We were admitted to pediatrics around 9:30 thursday morning where they continued to do blood tests and treat her with antibiotics. Her fever reached 103.8 at some point during our stay...all the days are running together now. As of today she has been fever free since yesterday morning. We are still waiting to see the doctor to see how long we will have to be here.

Chad has been going home to Drew at night to try and keep his life as normal as possible. Chad says he asks for Lorelei and for me...but I think it is sooo sweet that he asks for her :) On the phone last night he kept telling me that, "Lorelei sick".

We still do not know if it is viral or bacterial. We do know that is it not meningitis (praise the lord!) or any other very scary infection. I will try to keep you updated.

**go to the"Katie" link on my blog to see sweet pictures of Drew and Kennedy napping while Katie was watching Drew for us.

Thank you for all your prayers...this has been very scary for us!

Love,
Chad and Jen

Jen-
I am so sorry to hear this. i am just now catching up on your blog, and didn't know before. We had a similar situation with Caedmon when he was two weeks old and it absolutely tore me apart to have him poked and prodded and messed with. I know you must have been worn so thin. I hope everything is well with you all now.
